Whether you’re from the Greater Philadelphia area or are planning a destination wedding from afar, the Main Line just outside the City of Brotherly Love is an ideal spot to host your upcoming wedding.

Let’s start with a simple question.

Where is the Main Line, Pennsylvania?

If you’re not from Pennsylvania, you may not be familiar with the Main Line. The Main Line is formally known as the Philadelphia Main Line. It refers to the Western suburbs of Philadelphia that lie along the former Pennsylvania Railroad Main Line, which is now U.S. Route 30, also known as Lancaster Avenue. Some of the more well-known towns situated on the Main Line are Bryn Mawr, Ardmore, Haverford, Malvern, Villanova, Wayne, Media, and Newton Square, among others. It’s an area of about 200 square miles that boasts rich history, lush farmland, small cities with unique character and deep roots, along with lots of wedding venues.

J. Scott Catering has put down roots in the Main Line after years of catering weddings and events at Main Line venues. We’ve seen firsthand just how beautiful the celebrations in this area can be, and we truly believe it’s one of the best spots in Pennsylvania to plan a wedding because of its serene atmospheres and spectacular locales. When starting to plan your wedding, the first thing you’ll want to explore is venues—and the Main Line has so many stunning options.

Next up, we’ll share some of our favorite venue partners for you to explore!

Main Line Wedding & Events Venues We Cater At

The unique part about the Main Line area is the history. Regardless of what style of venue you choose, it will likely be home to distinctive local history that will make your celebration even more special.

Your Home

Sometimes the celebration is best suited to the place you call home. If the Main Line is where you grew up or where your love has blossomed, maybe it’s the perfect spot for your big day. Our team can come out and help devise a perfect plan for a perfect wedding celebration at your home.

Phoenixville Foundry

The Phoenixville Foundry is one of the most iconic venues in the area. Located right next to the downtown area in Phoenixville, the venue is home to so much history dating back to the 1800s, when it served as an iron foundry. It went through many transformations over the years, but in the early 2000s, the old industrial bones were given a facelift so to speak. The product was an unparalleled industrial chic venue that flawlessly blends old and new for wedding celebrations of all sizes.

Duportail House at Chesterbrook

The most historic venue in our round-up is Duportail House at Chesterbrook. This historic farmhouse dates back to the late 1700s. Today, it is a dreamy, romantic venue perfect for weddings. They have lots of options for the flow of your day, with charming indoor spaces like the solarium and a sprawling tented patio for larger celebrations.

Main Line Catering Menus

Just like no couple is the same, we are true believers that no menu should ever be created equal. While we do have standard menus that our couples can browse to start brainstorming the culinary creations they’d like on their wedding day, we are huge advocates of customizing menus to meet the preferences of the couple.
