In mid-July we celebrated the wedding of a beautiful couple, Heather and John at Phoenixville Foundry.  We began planning their wedding about a year and a half ago and the journey with the couple and their families was wonderful.  We built a bond, guiding them along the planning process to ensure no details were missed and that their dream day was everything they wanted and more.  This bountiful wedding had every type of food and food service you could imagine from start to finish.  In this the second installment we will be covering the seated dinner portion of the reception.

The seated dinner followed the fun filled cocktail hour on the mezzanine of the Foundry. After a few toasts guests were treated to J. Scott Catering team service as they brought out the first course; red and green leaf salad with mandarin oranges, candied walnuts and roasted peppers, drizzled with honey balsamic vinaigrette.

The couple opted for a dual entrée to sample the best of what land and sea have to offer. Guests enjoyed lump crab cake with lemon aioli and mushroom crusted beef tenderloin medallion with wild mushroom and marsala demi glace. Proteins were accompanied by fresh asparagus spears enveloped with carrot ribbon and oven roasted red bliss potatoes.  For those who requested a vegetarian entree they savored delicious tortellini with garden pea, sauteed mushroom and blush sauce with the asparagus accompaniment.

A question we often get during the planning process is what our options are for children’s meals.  While at this particular event the couple opted for traditional chicken fingers and French fries we offer a variety of other options for guests under 12 years.  Mac n’ cheese, grilled cheese, grilled chicken and spaghetti and meatballs are also wonderful choices for youngsters in attendance. These new dishes also incorporate accompaniment options such as glazed carrots and apple sauce, both healthy and kid friendly items.
