We continually talk about how versatile the Phoenixville Foundry is for all types of wedding themes.  One of the weddings we recently catered made use of this versatility by incorporating rustic elements to create a vintage theme that captured the couple’s unique style.

Enchanted Florist at Skippack Village helped the couple create Pinterest inspired centerpieces with wood cross-sections and green and clear wine bottles with simple long stemmed wild flowers.  Cocktail tables had Mason jars with hydrangeas, and many other beautiful wild flowers.  The groom was the mastermind behind preparing the bottles for the centerpieces as well as making many of the details throughout the event including the escort cards on a homemade wine cork board with long pins and vintage tags.

Lots of work went into the many details of the wedding including the menu.  The couple wanted to bring their guests a unique combination of tastes and textures throughout the evening.  After trying their menu items at the custom tasting held at the J. Scott Catering office, the couple was able to create the menu they knew would wow their guests and enhance the memories from their big day.

During the cocktail hour held on the Mezzanine of Phoenixville Foundry guests enjoyed a sampling of coconut crusted chicken skewers with chili sauce, spicy shrimp tacos with pico de gallo, and fried goat cheese with prosciutto, drizzled with warm truffled honey.  Other guest favorites included herb roasted shrimp with lemon garlic aioli, cheese steak spring rolls, mini potato skins, seared Kobe beef on wild mushroom bread pudding square, and barbeque braised short rib on a Yukon chip.

Sticking with the rustic theme, the couple chose a crisp wedge circle for their first course complete with smokehouse blue cheese, thinly sliced red onion, crisp Applewood smoked bacon, tear drop tomatoes and buttermilk blue cheese dressing.

This rustic and vintage themed wedding fit the couple perfectly and spoke to the old world charm of the Phoenixville Foundry.   Big thanks to the team at the Foundry, J. Scott Catering and all of the other vendors who came together to make this fun event possible, but most of all the lovely couple to whom we wish all the best to in the coming years!
