I always stress the importance of taking a moment even during the busiest weeks to appreciate the beauty in catering. When an event finally comes together with all the colors, styles, and textures discussed for weeks prior, there is a point where we step back and take in what we have created.

At this particular event we utilized all different shades of green. This look came together using heavy weight sateen linen with a sea foam background and apple green, zebra style, stripe. To contrast the tablecloth we used a deep olive green napkin that helped make both the linen and the centerpiece really pop. The flower arrangement at the center of each table was created by Sommerfield Design Flowers. Each had a reindeer moss base, wheat grass mid-section, green orchids, antherium, and green hydrangea with a bamboo pole for height. Chairs at each table were walnut in color, enhancing the theme by creating a tree look around each table.

The buffet had the same linen as the guest tables with two strikingly tall floral pieces at the center. They brought height to the buffet while continuing the theme throughout the room.

As I stepped back and took in the sight around me, I couldn’t help the pride I felt at how we had transformed an average conference room into a jungle. Sometimes it’s not just about the food but the decor, floral, and detail pieces that bring an event together.
