Junior Internship

Lead Server/Banquet Supervisor

Role time requirements. 

  • 3 credit, part time internship (remote or on-site)
  • Minimum of 12-15 hours per week, minimum 180 hours over the semester
    • Fall 15 weeks (August 23rd – December 6th)
    • Spring 15 weeks (January – May
    • Summer 12 weeks (May-August)

Schedule/Duration. Fridays & Saturdays, approximately 2:00 pm – 10:00 pm (schedule determined on a monthly basis).

Duties.  Banquet Supervisor Intern will oversee all aspects of an event, including set-up, food presentation, serving and cleanup.  He/she/they will also focus on delivering a quality presentation and excellent customer service. The Banquet Supervisor Intern will work with the Event Coordinator at the event to ensure basic knowledge of event details, including timeline, menu items and floorplan.

Requirements & Qualifications. 

  • Familiarity with food and beverage
  • Food safety knowledge
  • Team player.

Pay. Based off of experience, starting at $15/hour + gratuities

Senior Internship

Assistant Event Planner

Role time requirements. 

  • 12 credit, full time internship (remote or on-site)
  • Minimum of 40 hours per week, minimum 480 hours over the semester
    • Fall 15 weeks (August 23rd – December 6th)
    • Spring 15 weeks (January – May
    • Summer 12 weeks (May-August)

Schedule/Duration. Tuesday-Saturday, schedule to be determined on a bi-weekly basis

Duties. Event Planner Assistant Intern will assist Sales & Event Planner with choosing venue, creating a menu, solidifying client contracts, receiving insurance documentation from vendors, and finalizing details of the event. He/She/They will work with the Sales & Event Planner to ensure basic knowledge of event details, including timeline, menu items and floorplan.

Requirements & Qualifications. 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • Minimum of three 1-3 years catering sales/account manager and event planning experience
  • Sales & marketing experience
  • Experience in organizing and managing events such as corporate meetings, luncheons, weddings and other special occasions
  • Interpersonal communication and organizational skills
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Can work in Microsoft Office products such as Word, Excel and Outlook
  • Experience with Caterease a bonus

Pay. Hourly rate is based on experience and will be discussed in the interview.
