A great way to send interns back to school or welcome new hires is an end of summer barbeque. It gives everyone a chance to let their hair down, get to know each other and find out about future plans or goals. One of our long time clients throws this fun event every year at their home.
The setup is simple, a big tent set in the backyard beneath the setting sun. Tables dressed in white linens with votives and rocks as centerpieces with white resin chairs were provided for guest seating. The buffet, decorated in classic American motif, was equally simplistic with red, white and blue; beverage boxes, antique tin signs and little red wagons dotted the table just to name a few elements.
Cocktail hour began as the guests arrived and they helped themselves to a self-serve bar with beer, wine and soda. On the upper deck of our clients home was a stationary hors d’oeuvre table offering heirloom tomato flatbread and pesto cheesecake with toasted crostinis.
The entrée food served was classic barbeque fare; grilled New York sirloin strip steaks with Bleu cheese walnut butter and grilled airline chicken breasts with rosemary and garlic. Accompanying the proteins was a summer garden cheese tortellini salad with corn, fresh tomato, chopped black olives and sweet basil vinaigrette. Fresh sliced fruit was also served as a dessert option.
This wonderfully simple yet fun filled event is a highlight to our summer that we look forward to every year. Thanks to our long time client and the staff that made this event possible.
