I suppose we take for granted the salad that often starts off a meal. Lettuce, check, tomato, check, cucumber, carrots, red onion, croutons and if you are lucky maybe a nut two; this is the boring simple salad of yesteryear. Nowadays you can find just about anything on a salad and enjoy eating it not only for its nutritional value (let’s face it we still hear mom saying “eat your veggies” if we go a few days without) but its content and quality as a whole.   Fall is a great time to expand on your salad repertoire with a few of these fun and fancy show stopping salads.  It’s a great way to impress guests at a dinner party without having attended culinary school!
