One of our corporate clients recently celebrated their company’s 50th anniversary with a fun and food-filled evening at Phoenixville Foundry.  A sit-down dinner, followed by dessert stations proved to be the perfect way to honor the company for such an outstanding milestone.

The night kicked off with delicious passed hors d’oeuvres to satisfy everyone’s appetite.  Guests were able to sample apple and brie baked in a phyllo cup, crab cakes with chili crème fraiche, mini Monte Cristo sliders sprinkled with syrup, Moroccan beef skewers marinated in traditional spices, grilled shrimp Neapolitan with basil, red chili flakes, and garlic, and pork pot sticker complete with Guilin chili sauce.  With over 300 guests, the hors d’oeuvres were surely a hit.

While guests mingled during cocktail hour, entertainment was all around them.  Jugglers and stilt walkers amused guests with tricks, while clowns provided constant laughter.  To capture all of the magic, Philip Gabriel Photography took beautiful pictures throughout the evening.

Before dinner service started, guests were treated to a stunning show of silk aerial acrobatics performed by Brandywine Valley Talent.  Everyone was in awe as the acrobats gracefully floated through the air.  During the show, guests enjoyed a fresh arugula salad complete with strawberries, figs, almond Shellbark Hollow goat cheese, shaved fennel, and roasted shallot drizzled with champagne strawberry vinaigrette.

The main course was a mouth-watering marinated free-range chicken breast topped with a wild mushroom sauté.  The entree was accompanied by sautéed baby carrots, baby zucchini, and pattypan squash as well as long grain and wild rice pilaf.

As the evening wound down, dessert stations opened for guests to enjoy.  Guests had their choice of campfire s‘mores or ice cream sundaes.  The s’mores station was beautifully designed with logs, bricks, and moss to mimic a real campfire.  Red linens were carefully draped around the logs to add flare to the fire.  Graham crackers were dipped in chocolate and marshmallow and held by clothes pins so guests could easily pull them out of the “fire”. This classic dessert was perfect for the summer event.

The ice cream sundae station was elegantly set up with a large ice sculpture.  Chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream were placed in the ice sculpture ready for the guests to enjoy.  Tasty toppings, such as chocolate syrup and M&M’s, were available to make the sundaes even sweeter.

The final celebration of the night was a spectacular fireworks show. Beautiful colors filled the sky as the event came to an end.  The guests and our client left the Foundry with smiles on their faces after an exciting night of festivities.  Thanks to our J. Scott Catering staff for working hard and making this a successful night.
